My Counselling Approach

At Mind Over Matter, you are the one who leads the way. I will meet you where you are, and together we will explore the path that feels right for you. In my practice, I utilise an integrative approach to counselling, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic methods and tools to meet your unique needs. This approach is flexible and adaptable, ensuring that the therapy we do together is tailored specifically to you.

Grounded in person-centred core values, my approach prioritises empathy, authenticity, and unwavering support in every session. I believe that each person’s journey is unique, and my role is to create a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I strive to foster the idea of being true to oneself and maintaining alignment between thoughts, feelings, and actions. By demonstrating this in our sessions, I hope that my clients can carry this practice into their own lives, creating a sense of personal harmony and well-being.

I am passionate about using the therapeutic relationship to model healthy connections and demonstrate how relationships should function. I believe that the way we relate to one another in therapy can be a powerful tool for reflection, helping clients apply these insights to their everyday interactions.

"A Safe Space to Explore, Heal, and Grow"

I Integrate Various Techniques Tailored to your Individual Needs:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an effective method I use to help you identify and change unhelpful behaviour patterns and thought processes. By examining how your thoughts influence your feelings and actions, we can work together to foster more positive outcomes.
  • Psychoanalysis involves exploring your past experiences and emotions to understand how they shape your current behaviours and thought patterns. This approach can provide valuable insights into the underlying factors that influence your life, helping you to recognise patterns and make meaningful changes.

Ultimately, every client’s journey and situation is different, and we will work collaboratively to decide on the best approach for each session. My aim is to empower you to uncover insights, build resilience, and develop better behaviours and healthy communication styles that will benefit all aspects of your life and relationships going forward. Together, we can navigate life’s complexities with confidence and clarity.
