Positively rare is a powerful collection featuring 25 authors who share their personal journeys with rare diseases and how these experiences have positively impacted their lives. Kelly states, “I reflect on my mental health journey following my son’s diagnosis with a rare disease, illustrating how this experience transformed my perspective on life and the importance of resilience. It was during this challenging time that I felt compelled to help establish a rare disease patient group, which ultimately inspired my career in counselling. Through this chapter, I aim to shed light on the strength that can emerge from adversity, offering hope and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.”
