Kelly states, “I reflect on my mental health journey following my son’s diagnosis with a rare disease, illustrating how this experience transformed my perspective on life and the importance of resilience. It was during this challenging time that I felt compelled to help establish a rare disease patient group, which ultimately inspired my career in counselling. Through this chapter, I aim to shed light on the strength that can emerge from adversity, offering hope and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.”
